I got it Wasabi green color.cool out-of-the ordinary color. I bought it for camping, but it would work at home just as well. Great product, it is a great design and well built. Highly reccommend for French press type of coffee or tea brewing.
In total I can get 2strong or 3 medium coffee's out of this. read the instructions. At first it seems like a lot of money for what appears to be just an insulated mug. I wanted to reduce my coffee spend and since Starbucks stopped doing the free refills I figured I was spending 6 bucks a day on mediocre coffee. Had it for a few weeks now and NEVER got any grounds in my mouth- Coffee tastes better than with drip maker, no doubt (unles you shell out for an expensive one, but otherwise NO comparison)- No filters needed- No SB $$$$$ needed at work- You save a few trees if you use this for a long time- Fits in any standard cup holder - Dishwasher safeCons:- Outside can get hot and rubber ring does not protect enough from heat- Only 14 oz due to hidden compartment taking up space, so if you like to drink big gulps look for the desk mug or the boot mug- narrow base so can tip over, be careful.- Little priceyTip: do not pour in boiling water if you want to use the french press right away: the plastic percolator could bend / break, i.e. Earn back time would be < 2 weeks (since I now have to bring my own coffee) so why not. The little hidden coffee container in the bottom gets filled up as well.
I do miss my Starbuck walks though :(On the up side:- Cool colors- Great commuter design with French press system and travel lid with lock- Cute hidden container for extra ground coffee- Fine mesh keeps ALL ground out. couldn't go back.

Overall a solid 5 stars for cool design and colors and for truly delivering on its promise. The I saw this French Press mug on TV and thought I'd try it for the [.].
I buy fresh coffee beans from Coffee bean direct and in the morning I put 2 scoops in the mug and pour in hot water.
Fully satisfied with purchase so far and hope the mug will stand up to many years of use to justify the premium price. Secret shot compartment comes in handy occasionally. Owned for about a month and used most days. Keeps coffee hot enough for long enough.
Tip: to keep from clogging the sink at work, I carefully rinse and pour into a paper towel positioned in the drain, then carefully fold and gingerly squeeze as I would a teabag for disposal. There are two things that could be improved: (1) I think the plunger could be a bit longer so that the grounds were slightly compressed at the bottom of the stroke, and (2) The mesh on the plunger could be finer to keep the "fines" in the mug for those of us who grind our own beans -- even at the coarsest setting, I get a bit of "mud" at the end of the drink. They dashed to the loading dock and swapped out the Chrome for Black -- a very nice gesture.
Overall I like it and brew coffee twice a day during the work week. PD sent me an email saying that my order had shipped, and gave the color as Chrome. I've owned the Planetary Design Double Shot Travel French Press Mug for a little over a month now.
I immediately wrote back to thank them and to say I had ordered Black. At the end of the day, I rinse as above, then add a drop of dish soap, fill with hot water, work the plunger a few times, rinse and let air-dry overnight in my covered book shelf. First, let me say that Planetary Design is a great company.
There was a problem with my order (the Chrome color came through, perhaps by default) but I really wanted Black.
I love the extra compartment for storing more tea or coffee for later. Only downfall is that the French press lid is not spill-proof, so be careful. Excellent idea.and it still fits in the car cup holder. Although this mug is technically a French press for coffee, I use it all the time with loose leaf tea, and it's perfect. Double screens make sure you don't get any tea leave or coffee bean bits in your mouth.
